![]() ![]() ![]() When Olivia heard about the auditions for Gone With The Wind, she wanted the part of Melanie while all the other starletts in Hollywood wanted the role of Scarlett. However, Warner Brothers did not lend out their stars. Olivia made a personal plea to Jack Warner's wife. She signed on for Melanie on January 13, 1939. Olivia and Hattie McDaniel were nominated for Best Supporting Actresses for Gone With The Wind. Hattie received the Oscar.
![]() Olivia married Marcus Goodrich in 1946 and had one son. They divorced in 1953. Olivia won her first Oscar for "To Each His Own" and another one for "The Heiress." In 1955, she married Pierre Galante and had one daughter. She won a Golden Blobe for here performance in "Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna."
